Accord Software introduces Centerline™ Freight Scanning
Concord, ON - June 18, 2010
Accord Software today announced the deployment of Centerline™ Freight Scanning, a mobile computing add-on to Centerline Transportation Management System (TMS) at Ottaway Motor Express of Norwich, ON. Under contract to automotive manufacturers for third-party logistics (3PL) services, Ottaway Motor Express has selected Centerline Freight Scanning to deliver the enhanced visibility they require, and to manage the volume of data collected in their fully automated cross-dock environment. The seamless integration of Centerline Freight Scanning with Centerline TMS allows Ottaway Motor Express to capture the details of individual parts shipments for tracking and automated load planning. Centerline Freight Scanning uses proven barcode technology to capture shipment details, thereby eliminating data entry errors and increasing productivity. Captured data is seamlessly uploaded to Centerline TMS for freight routing, outbound planning, and final delivery to OEM dealership customers.
After using and outgrowing many off-the-shelf solutions, Ottaway Motor Express determined they needed a highly customizable solution. According to Shawn McMahon, Vice President of Operations, “Centerline TMS with Freight Scanning enables us to deliver on-time. Custom development and support allow the solution to grow with us, as our business develops”.
To truly leverage the advantages of Centerline TMS, Ottaway Motor Express defined reduced paper-burden, up-to-the-minute reporting, wireless hand-held scanners, and integration with existing business solutions as mandatory requirements. “Tracking shipments used to take minutes, now it takes us seconds to respond, typically emailing PODs while the customer is still on the telephone” says Shawn McMahon. He continues “As part of the OEM supply line, there are constant expectations for data, including customs clearance times, late deliveries, and freight holding. Centerline TMS helps us to meet those expectations.”
“The integration of Centerline Freight Scanning with Centerline TMS makes distribution and logistics services more responsive to the dynamic needs of customers. Behind each parts order is a customer who expects their vehicle to be returned to service quickly, and Centerline Freight Scanning allows the distribution channel to consistently deliver the right part to the right place, as quickly as possible” says Tony De Feo, President of Accord Software.

Accord Software integrates PC*Miler 23 from ALK Technologies
Concord, ON – March 29, 2010
Accord Software today announced the successful certification and integration of PC*MILER® 23 with its Centerline Transportation Management System® (TMS). The twenty-third annual edition of PC*MILER provides carriers unprecedented access to critical load planning data, and road restrictions. Centerline TMS, in conjunction with PC*MILER 23, allows logistics managers to better control their operating costs, enabling greater accuracy in billing, invoicing, and driver settlement. Enhanced map functionality including road restrictions, dangerous goods restrictions, and weight allowances lets users enter height, length, and weight values for loads, calculating the optimum route based on user-selectable criteria.
The integration of PC*Miler 23 allows Centerline TMS to leverage key mileage calculations from PC Miler to optimize routes, determine mileage between stops, compute mileage for driver pay, and calculate in-state or in-province mileage for fuel tax reporting. “The integration of PC*MILER 23 with Centerline TMS makes trucking more efficient, offering benefits to shippers, carriers, and strategic partners. Integrating PC*MILER 23 allows dispatchers to consistently respond to their customers faster” says Tony De Feo, president of Accord Software.
Centerline TMS allows the location of key resources, including trucks and trailers to be plotted on maps in real time. Once resources have been located, plotting pickup and delivery locations allows you to identify which resources are best positioned to respond.
The integration of Centerline TMS with PC*Miler 23 provides substantial map data updates, including new and updated truck-restricted roadways, North American hazardous materials restrictions, and new weight allowances nationwide.
01 February, 2010 Centerline TMS Improves Driver Productivity With Action Level Indicators
Concord, ON – Accord Software, a developer of advanced transportation management software for the trucking industry has released an exciting new feature in its flagship Transportation Management System, Centerline TMS. Action Level Indicators are displayed to dispatchers, and automatically prioritize driver trips by status. Designed to address the time-sensitive business requirements of busy carriers, Action Level Indicators are displayed in a range of colors, signalling the requirement for dispatch intervention.
Using Action Level Indicators, dispatchers can manage trips more effectively, reducing the amount of driver idle time, and increasing profitability. “Action Level Indicators allow dispatchers to directly impact productivity on a trip-by-trip basis” says Tony De Feo, President of Accord Software. “Enhanced operational efficiency is now available to every courier, LTL, and TL carrier.”
A color scheme in the Dispatch Board alerts dispatchers when drivers require additional attention, for either workload or communications reasons. If a driver has completed all stops and becomes idle, the Dispatch Board recognizes this condition and flags the dispatcher, using the Action Level Indicator. Action Level Indicators also warn dispatchers when drivers are approaching an idle state, so they can proactively assign more work to the driver. Any event or condition that requires intervention will cause the Action Level Indicator to flag the dispatcher, allowing them to better manage their resources.
“Action Level Indicators make it easy and intuitive for our dispatchers to proactively deal with the real-world conditions that drivers are dealing with” says Ken Harmer, Vice President of Operations at Muir’s Cartage. “This feature gives our dispatchers an enhanced view of their operational resources, and helps them ensure the highest degree of driver efficiency and productivity.”

Concord, ON – Accord Software, a developer of advanced transportation management solutions for the trucking industry has released Version 2 of its proven software for mobile handheld computers designed to keep TL, LTL and courier drivers in touch with central dispatch operations at all times.
In conjunction with Centerline TMS, Centerline Mobile Version 2 offers pinpoint GPS positioning, real-time reporting, optimized communications protocols, and an enhanced user interface. The new Advanced Pickup Mode allows drivers to capture detailed information at pickup that was not available at the time of dispatch.

Centerline Mobile allows for the electronic capture of OSD details at the time of delivery, minimizing claims-related issues. This enhanced accuracy enables Centerline TMS users to improve customer service and on-time deliveries.
“The new user interface in Centerline Mobile Version 2 is simple and intuitive, making it easy for drivers to use” says Dan Schachtler, Vice President of Business Development. “Designed to improve productivity and eliminate errors, the interface uses a ‘point and click’ approach with menus that can be customized with entries specific to your business.”
